i went to walmart and bought a $40 humidifier thinking that all humidifiers are the same. after the third time of returning the $40 pieces of crap i found this wonderful product. this humidifier is wonderful for daysleepers. the first time that i turned it on i thought that it was broke until i saw the mist rolling out the top. COMPLETELY QUIET!! i love the fact that it has a humidity control. you can set it as low or as high as you want it. the only downfall is if you turn the setting all the way up it will burn through the tank of water in about 8-10 hours.

Really had high hopes for this thing, considering the cost. Sometimes you actually get what you pay for. But after a month or so it just plain quit. It appears the gold-colored coating on the atomizer plate just disintegrated! I called customer service and he took me through some steps that didn't fix it, then initiated the return procedure. We'll see if I get a refund or not.

While the product is esy to use I found it was inadaquate for the size of our bedroom. It was a cold dry winter and the unit barly kept the humidity at exceptable levels. I would say I am most disappointed in the operation of this unit and not recommend it for purchase.

My mission was to find a humidifier that I could leave on at night when I go to sleep (I'm a musician so I'm extremely sensitive to noise). After trying a couple of 'super-silent' humidifiers that I ended up returning, I was very happy when I received this one - this one really IS 'super-silent'.



It's a simple cold-mist humidifier. Looks cute, compact and easy to clean (it even has a tiny cleaning brush attached to the base unit). It's a bit pricey for what it can do but If you're looking for a silent humidifier, this is the one.

I purchased this product because i thought that it would be soooo much better than the $39 humidifier that had previously purchased. Note, that there was nothing wrong with the old one. I simply lost track of it one summer. When I went looking for a new one, i was a little concerned about bacteria accumulating, and that is what drew me to this one. I also liked the color. I figured that it would blend in better in the room. Honestly, it is just very similar to the one that i purchased the last time from a drug store for $39. The main difference is that it is black, it has the filters and it makes a humming noise even when it is turned off. It produces the same amount of mist, it is roughly the same size container of water. I assume that the noise is relative to the electricity activating the antibacterial. And, since it goes through all the water in a single night, bacteria is really not an issue. I like this product ok, but had I to do it again, i would have saved the $70 and gone with a the drug store white one.

I have kids that need the humidifier. I went through at least 10 different humidifiers and returning every one, until I bought this one. Starting with low priced ones, this humidifier blew all the other out of the water, literally. I even bought a few more expensive units than this one. Had this model for 2 years now and never leaks, a very nice, easy to read humidity digital gauge, heat/cool modes, auto power off and many more features. The only bad thing I can say is it isn't cheap, and the silver ion stick and other mineral cartridges need to be replaced yearly, but overall I am very satified with this humidifier.

However, this product stopped working after only a few months of use. It is one of the most expensive humidifiers offered on Amazon and because of this, I thought I would be getting a high-end product. It's only been two weeks since I bought this but we use it every night to humidify the bedroom as my nose tends to dry out at night. So far so good. It makes a big difference in the air quality. The only drawback is you have to fill it up every other night. A really good feature is that it's extremely quiet. We don't hear it at all unlike others we have had in the past. This humidifier is quiet. It does create humidity in the air. However, it leaves white dust EVERYWHERE. I tried changing the mineral cartridge, filling it with filtered water, filling it with distilled water, and nothing worked. After having to dust my entire house every two days for a month, I gave up on this humidifier and I'm going back to a filtered unit.

It did a great job of adding moisture to the air of our bedroom but we had white dust everywhere. We quickly realized that the dust was the mineral content of our water.



Unlike other types of humidifiers which leave minerals behind and emit only water vapor, ultrasonic units pulverize mineralized water into minerlized water mist and blow it out. Once outside the unit, the water evaporates from the the mineralized water mist and the minerals float in the air like dust.



In the past, the expensive furnace filters we use had reduced the need for dusting our house to about once a month. While using this humidfier we had to dust our whole house at least once a week. We were using the triple filtered water from our reverse osmosis water filter but this did not help.



I would advise that if mineral deposits accumulate around your faucets then you are apt to have a white dust problem using an ultrasonic unit like this one. In hindsight, we would have preferred cleaning the deposits from the inside of a steam type unit over having to dust our whole house so often.

Let me start by saying the name is a misrepresentation of the product. It will output 2.3 gallons a day, however, the tank only holds one gallon. This means you would have to fill it up three times a day to use it all day. I use it at night and I have to fill it every night and put the setting on halfway to not run out of water before I wake up. If you are using this humidifier for a light duty application it is fine, but by no means is this product a workhorse.



The water storage area has a handle that is not very ergonomic for carrying it from the sink to the unit.



It has a pleasant aesthetic appeal and is much more suited for the bedroom than the penguin version Crane makes. That is probably the best thing I can say about it.

No loud fan.



Cons:

Makes a constant dripping noise. The dripping is random so I'm able to sleep with it, but you'll definitely hear the dripping.

Small, only lasts about 6 hours on a high setting.

This is a great product. It is super quiet which is nice because we have it in our daughter's room. Our last humidifier was crazy loud so this is a welcome relief. It also puts out a lot of moisture. The only reason I did not give it a five is because the product description said it was a 2.3 gallon tank but it is really one gallon. You have to refill every day which is sort of a pain. But all in all this is a fantastic humidifier. nice sleek design, no gross filter and no strange areas where dirt or water can collect. highly recommended.

This humidifier is great! It is so quiet, and really puts out a nice stream of fine 'mist'--more like a cloud. I love that there are no wicks to replace. After using it for about 4-5 months, the inside of the water tank started molding. First thing, their customer service stinks. It usually goes into a prompt telling you to leave a message, so I did and waited for 2 weeks and no one called. I kept calling and I finally got through. I wanted them to replace just the plastic water tank but they insisted that it is very usual for it to mold and suggested that I clean it out using water and vinegar. Disappointed that they won't stand by their product, I had no choice to try it but with no luck. I must have cleaned and rinsed it more 1o times and it simply will not come off.



I'm not taking any chances using a humidifier with mold inside the water tank, so I'm throwing it away and never buying any products from them again.



I give this ZERO stars but it seems that that was not an option so I had to choose at least one star.

I bought this humidifier on Dec 1st. I wanted to use it for a while before doing a review. I swear I have no connection to the company that makes this or any retailer. My glowing review is simply because it has turned out to be an excellent buy.



Note, I see that the reviews so far for the digital model of this humidifier are not good. Apparently the humidity sensor? isn't working properly. My unit is the manual one, does not have any sensor. I stand by my review of this unit only. Sorry this is so long.



I have purchased and used a number of other small humidifiers over the years because I suffer from significant RA dryness symptoms. I have to say that this is the best humidifier I have ever had, bar none. I use this in my bedroom at night and my dry eye and skin problems lessened immediately upon first use and the benefit continues through an unusually cold winter. I also notice that I have been sleeping much better!



Besides the health benefits, another big plus is the almost silent operation. Each of the other units I had made loud misting noises and even worse, produced a persistent metallic pinging noise. Some caused chest congestion. I have had only very minimal temporary chest congestion with this and that may have been due to other things than this unit.



I have not used the warm water setting since that would make my room warmer than I like.



PROS:

Almost silent.

Simple to use: no complicated bits to micro-mist the water. Very well made. The cover doors to the compartments on each side are precisely fitted. The tank lid is water tight but still easy to unscrew. Simple parts fit together easily and are easy to clean.

Light weight.

Simple carry handle on tank works well.

Excellent humidity level even at below medium setting with no noticeable residue or dampness to any nearby surfaces.

Needs weekly drain and wash as indicated in instructions; a check of the small metal ionizing(?) plate and that's it. I do have municipal water. Well water would probably require more cleaning.

The anti-microbial feature was a selling point. I have no way to know if it's working, but the unit does seem to stay much cleaner than previously owned units.

I fill the tank about half full and that lasts me for almost a week.

There is no leakage whatsoever.

I like the units' sort-of art deco style a lot. All the other units I've owned were stodgy and unimaginative. This one reminds me of an old radio.



CONS:

The bright blue lights. I taped a piece of cardboard over so I can see just enough of the low-water light. I also placed the unit across the room because of the light problem. (Are engineers sparkly light fetishists? Many small appliances have these light problems. ;))

Price is high, but well worth it for the benefits in my opinion.



The tiny metal plate in the base below the spray tower appears to be rusty and has left a rusty residue on a q-tip. I don't know if this is from rust or water deposits. This plate cannot be removed or even looked at closely so I don't know if this is a problem or not. Doesn't appear to affect use at this time.



The manual was rather poorly written. There were parts mentioned that were not illustrated. I owned it for a month before I found where the cleaning brush was. Note, there are compartments with removable lids on either side of the unit under the water tank.

Doesn't hold all that much water for anyone wanting to leave it on all the time at a high setting.

Have to take a little care when removing tank not to spill any accumulated water from inside main unit or pull the tower misting part out with it. Not a big deal.

Does *require* cleaning at least once a week, especially around the metal plate or it won't mist.

Tank is a little unwieldy when upside down to fill. It does not sit flat due to built-in handle. Have to finagle getting it under the tap. Sometimes water gets into bottom sections and has to be carefully poured out or soaked up after lid is back on or you'll end up with water on the floor when you turn it over. Again, not significant.

I've been using this unit for over a month. This technology, even at the price, is the best I could find in the available models by various manufacturers.



First, this unit does not require filters. Any sediment or deposits will settle out naturally to the bottom of the tank. This means that cleaning is a simple matter of rinsing out the tank when you fill it.



Second, the ultrasonic method of evaporating the water leads to a germ-free (99.999%) vapor which is ideal if you are using this for respiratory environmental care.



Third, this unit is sturdy.



Fourth, this unit is attractive.



Fifth, this unit is easy to fill - you don't have to shut it off to refill the tank. Re-filling is a simple matter of grasping the tank by a handle, removing it, undoing the cap, and, filling it from a faucet. The unit continues to operate while you are filling the tank.



Sixth, you have the most control over the vapor of any other unit. You don't just have a choice between warm or cold mist with the need to buy a separate unit for each. You can produce either with the touch of a button.



Seventh, this unit has quality construction. The cap where the vapor discharges is stainless steel and not only looks attractive, but, cleans very easily.



I'd give this unit five stars if it put out a little more vapor (for larger rooms), and, had a larger tank for longer operation. As it is, it uses about a tank every other day. I keep it by my bedside and it provides all of the comfort I need for an arid or semi-arid mountain environment (in which I live).



I think this unit is the best buy for the money.

I've had it a week, but it's going back. As the other reviews say, it measures the humidity level at either 30% or 33%, no matter how small the room or how long it's been running. The humidity sensor is useless.



The lights are far too bright. My bedroom looks like a disco with the thing on and the night light is almost as bright as my lamp.



Others didn't seem to have much of a problem with this, but ours is far from silent, especially when you first turn it on. It seems to quiet down some after it runs for awhile, but it is far from silent.



Look elsewhere folks. You can do a lot better for a lot less money.

I can't beleive it, but we've tried 5 models of this humidifier, and none of them worked properly. We worked with the manufacturer, Germ Guardian, and they sent us "tested" models by their "engineers" but alas, they too had malfunctions. 3 of the 5 models could not read the accurate level of humidity in the room and even after 24 hours of mist coming out, the units still read 30% humidity (the level it read as we turned it on) in our standard bedroom size room. There was no way to program them. The other 2 of the 5 had no spray control and although it was "programmed" to low, they kicked out high volumes of moisture which saturated our oriental rug! VERY frustrated with this humidifier and the company, who claims it must be our environment and "no one else appears to have this problem". How could that be? We only tried 5 models because it appeared to be the best humidifier with the most features on the market, looked great, and seemed to be the best, but after this experience, perhaps simpler is better.

Two problems: The machine did not work as expected and the company's customer service seems terrible. The machine is nice looking and has what appear to be good electronic controls. It is also extremely silent. But even though you can set the humidity control for various stages from 50% to 80%, the humidity (according to the indicator on the machine), did nothing but fluctuate between 30% and 33%, even after I ran it for several hours in the kitchen and then in the bedroom. In addition, when I set it for "sleep/auto" according to the book it is supposed to set the humidity at 8o% and stay on all night. But it turned off in the middle of the night, even though the water tank was still over half full, and in the morning the humidity still registered only 30%. I called the customer service number listed in the book to ask some questions, but all I got was a computer message saying to leave a message and I would get a call back. I did so, but after five days I received no call back. The same afternoon I sent an email to customer service asking the same questions, but after five days I received no reply. This is probably the worst customer service response I have ever had. I would certainly not recommend this machine, or this company, to anyone. BUT, maybe I just got a lemon. I hope someone else has a better experience.

I had the same problem as someone else did on here. I bought this thinking it was supposed to be the best out there. It worked pretty good overnight, but after my wife was nursing our son to sleep, she called me in and it was leaking all over the floor - and into the inside components of the humidifier.

And I haved return the 4, none of them have work well for different problems, to much noise, the screen died, no steam coming out and too much steam coming out.

After 8 months, I finally give up I'm buying another brand possibly the AOS 2055D, I'm tired and I want something that work.

After returning the first one I bought for a replacement after the first one stopped working, the second one lasted about a month before the vibrating part that creates the humidity stopped working. I contacted customer service and they blew me off by telling me that a replacement part was not available. I bought a Honeywell and have been very happy with it.

I would have given it 5 stars but I just got it a few days ago. I live in the desert and our weather has been very dry. My nose and eyes felt all dried up in the mornings. Got this at Costco and this baby worked like a charm right out of the box. The unit's humiditat works on my unit as I can compare it to a digital wall model humidistat (+/- 5 degrees). I keep it in my bedroom and have slept like a baby the last three nights. No leaking, no noise, easy refill. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it continues to work as well as it has so far. I do love all the bells and whistles and it's a great looking unit.

We've been going through humidifiers trying to find a good one. I was attracted to this one because Costco sells it and we could return it for a refund if it stopped functioning at any time.



Well, on day 3 it went back to costco. The ultrasonic transducer stopped functioning to produce vapor and on top of that it started leaking on the floor. Overnight it would drop the contents of the entire reservoir.



I had high hopes. This would be a great unit - if it worked.
